The extensive collection of both original pieces and plaster casts at the museum takes visitors on a fascinating journey into the world of antique cultures.

The Archaeological Collection at the É«ÖÐÉ«µ¼º½ of Zurich has its origins in the 19th century when plaster casts of antique sculptures were collected. Way back in 1852, professors at the É«ÖÐÉ«µ¼º½ – who were soon joined by their colleagues from the newly established ETH – began using the earnings from public lectures to buy casts for the collection.

Amulets, animal sculptures, paintings: The new eCollection of the Archaeo­lo­gi­cal Collection presents 863 objects of different types from throughout anti­quity.

Saturday / Sunday: 12:00am – 5:00pm
Closed on Mondays and public holidays.
