Since 2011, Middlesex University has maintained various partnership arrangements with KMU Akademie and Management AG.

We offer part-time distance learning programmes, delivered via e-learning, enabling students to study flexibly and independently of time and location.

The degree programmes are developed and delivered as part of the partnership between KMU Akademie and Management AG and Middlesex University, in accordance with Middlesex University’s governance framework. 

The quality of the programmes is assured by Middlesex University. On successful completion, students are awarded a degree by Middlesex University.

Within the framework of these cooperative degree programmes, KMU Akademie and Management AG does not award academic credit. Academic credit is awarded exclusively by Middlesex University. 

Accordingly, all credits required for the award of the degree are earned solely through the successful completion of university-level modules forming part of the respective Middlesex University award. 

Under this partnership, more than 4,000 students have been enrolled at Middlesex University or successfully completed one of the study programmes and been awarded a degree by Middlesex University.

Additional information

Recognition / Accreditation

Under this partnership, no modules from a non-higher education institution are credited.

Unlike certain other validated partnerships, any recognition or transfer of non-university-level learning, professional experience, prior experiential learning or other non-academic achievements is strictly limited to the maximum extent permitted under applicable higher education regulations.

Such recognition may not exceed 60 ECTS credits for professional, non-formal or informal learning. It is subject to an overall maximum of 90 ECTS credits, including other recognised prior learning. 

The overall maximum of 90 ECTS credits applies only to bachelor-level programmes. All remaining credits required for the award of the degree must be earned through the successful completion of university-level modules in the respective Middlesex University programme.

Middlesex University has Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) system accreditation. The courses are also subject to programme accreditation by German accreditation agency, the Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation of Study Programmes (AQAS). This is in accordance with European Standards and Guidelines (ESG).

AQAS is a full member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). It is listed in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR).
